Do you want to organize your first descents or prepare your ski holiday? The opening dates of Swiss ski resorts for 2026-2027 help you choose when to go.
However, the areas often open gradually. The first days sometimes involve a few trails, before a wider opening in December.
Here is the announced schedule for Nendaz, Verbier, Anzère, La Dôle, Morgins, Grimentz and Champéry.
Information verified on October 2, 2026 with operators and tourist offices. Dates remain subject to snow conditions.
The table distinguishes the first announced openings from the following stages. A pre-opening does not mean that all slopes are open.
| Station | First openings planned | Larger opening announced |
|---|---|---|
| Verbier | From October 31, 2026, on certain installations, depending on the conditions | Several additional facilities from December 5, 2026 |
| Nendaz | According to snow conditions; Tortin and Baby-Lift Siviez scheduled to open as early as December 5, 2026 | Tracouet from December 19, 2026 |
| Anzère | Weekend dates: November 21–22 and 28–29, 2026, subject to conditions | Official opening on December 4, 2026 |
| La Dôle | Start of the season scheduled for December 5, 2026 for Jura sur Léman | Areas accessible depending on the conditions |
| Morgins | Pre-opening scheduled for December 12–13, 2026 | Swiss ski area from December 18, 2026 |
| Grimentz | Weekends from November 21, 2026, subject to conditions | Daily opening of both sectors from December 18, 2026 |
| Champéry | First planned period: from December 5 to 8, 2026, then from December 11 onwards | Swiss ski area from December 18, 2026 |
Official sources of the calendar: Verbier, Nendaz, Anzère, Jura sur Léman, Grimentz-Zinal and Portes du Soleil Switzerland.
Verbier is scheduling certain lifts to open from October 31, 2026, subject to favorable ski conditions.
The schedule includes Médran, the Funispace and the Lac des Vaux lifts. In November, these lifts only run at weekends.
Several additional lifts are then scheduled from December 5, 2026, including Mayentzet, Chaux-Express and La Chaux 2.
Thus, a trip at the beginning of the season requires some checks. Check the available routes before buying your pass or booking your trip.
Furthermore, an open lift for transport does not guarantee an open ski run.
In Nendaz, the dates vary between Siviez, Tracouet and the high-altitude lifts.
The schedule lists Tortin and the Siviez Baby-Lift from December 5, 2026. The Mont-Fort lifts are scheduled from December 12.
Finally, Tracouet and several associated lifts are scheduled to open on December 19, 2026.
The official page also indicates that the overall dates are subject to further communication. Therefore, consider these indications as a preliminary program by installation.
For a family stay, check in particular the access to the beginner areas. An opening at altitude does not guarantee the opening of the meeting place for the courses.
Check the official Nendaz lift timetables before your departure.

Anzère announces its official opening for Friday, December 4, 2026.
The station then plans to operate on a daily basis, depending on weather conditions. The announced hours range from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Before that date, Télé Anzère is considering two pre-opening weekends: November 21–22 and 28–29, 2026. Whether they go ahead will depend on snow and weather.
The season closure is included in the calendar on Sunday, April 4, 2027.
To start, check which facilities are actually open. The general schedule does not yet specify the opening of the Place du Village magic carpet.
So contact your school before choosing a course date at the beginning of the season.

Jura sur Léman announces a tentative opening date of December 5, 2026, to March 21, 2027. This calendar applies to the ski area La Dôle belongs to.
However, check the slopes and lifts of the Dôle-Tuffes massif separately. The general date does not guarantee that all sectors will open at the same time.
For a day of skiing, check the bulletin just before you leave. This way, you can choose your starting point based on the available facilities.
This verification also makes it easier to organize classes, materials, and travel.

Morgins plans a first opening on the weekend of December 12–13, 2026.
The programme includes the Morgins gondola, the Foilleuse magic carpet and the Truche ski lift. The operator then announces the opening of the Swiss ski area on Friday, December 18.
The official opening of the Portes du Soleil is scheduled for Saturday, December 19, 2026. Finally, Morgins plans to close on Sunday, April 4, 2027.
However, openings will expand depending on snow cover and operating conditions. So check which connections are open if you want to change sector.

Grimentz-Zinal anticipates early openings starting on Saturday, November 21, 2026.
The schedule applies to the sectors of Bendolla and Sorebois during weekends. The operator conditions these first days to favorable snow conditions.
Sorebois then plans to open daily from December 5, 2026. Both sectors announce their daily operation from December 18, 2026 to April 11, 2027.
So be sure to distinguish the first early-season days from the daily operating schedule. For a holiday of several days, check that the sector you plan to ski is running.
Find these steps on the official Grimentz-Zinal timetable page.

Champéry provides for an initial opening period from December 5 to 8, 2026, then reopening from Friday, December 11.
The programme includes the Champéry cable car and several chairlifts in the ski area accessible from the resort, notably Planachaux, Mossettes and Grand-Conche.
The opening of the Swiss ski area is then scheduled for December 18, 2026. Champéry plans to close on Sunday, April 11, 2027.
As at Morgins, conditions will determine the actual opening times. Therefore, please check the lifts and slopes available before each outing.

The calendar helps you choose a period. However, only the daily bulletin indicates the facilities that are actually accessible.
Also check the connections, schedules, and options for returning to your accommodation.
Before booking, ask your ESi school when the desired courses start. Specify the age of the participants and their level.
Next, confirm the meeting point and the ski pass you need. This is particularly important during the first weeks of operation.
For an early getaway, check the conditions for modifying your accommodation. Also check the terms applicable to courses and packages.
Finally, prepare a complementary activity to diversify your stay. You can enjoy the mountains according to the conditions and the wishes of the group.
