With the ESI children's group ski lessons, young skiers learn to get around on the slopes while discovering the pleasures of the mountains. From the very first sessions, the lessons are adapted to their age and their level of practice in order to offer them a reassuring and motivating framework.
The children are divided into homogeneous groups, which allows them to practice with peers who have similar skills. This organization promotes steady progress while leaving each child time to develop their technique and confidence on skis.

At ESI, learning to ski is all about fun and confidence. To help children progress smoothly, our instructors create a framework that is both playful, safe, and encouraging. Activities are chosen based on the group’s abilities to gradually cover the basics: finding balance, mastering their skis, making their first turns, controlling their stops, and adjusting their speed.
Each child develops at their own pace. That is why the groups are formed based on skiing level, so that the exercises really match what the participants have already learned. This organisation allows the instructor to adjust the content of the sessions and offer situations that suit the abilities of each group.
For the youngest or those just starting out, the first sessions are dedicated to discovering the equipment and getting their first feel for skiing. Children gradually learn to move on their skis, to stop, and to control their direction. Session after session, they develop their sense of direction and gain confidence to progress more and more independently on the slopes.
Les ESI group courses bring children and teenagers together in groups formed according to their skiing level. This organization allows the instructor to adapt the exercises to each individual’s skills and to track the progress made during the sessions. The goal is to accompany each young skier in their development, until they are able to gradually approach the higher-level skills.
The group courses offered over 5 or 6 days let participants follow a progression over several sessions. At the end of the course, each child or teenager receives their ESI medal, offered by the school. This award marks the progress made and is a souvenir of their time on the slopes.
Once the basics are mastered, the sessions allow for further development in practice. Young skiers can work on things like precision turns, skiing technique, controlling their speed, and adapting to different types of slopes. Depending on their level and the conditions encountered, the instructor can also take them on to discover new sections of the ski resort.
The collective dimension brings another richness to learning. By skiing with other children or teenagers of comparable level, everyone can observe different ways of doing things, exchange with their peers, and share their successes. This dynamic creates a stimulating atmosphere throughout the stay, while leaving each participant the necessary time to progress according to their own abilities.
