Telemark: another way to ski with ESi

The telemark offers a distinctive approach to skiing, recognisable by its free heel and characteristic turning technique. With the instructors ofESI, International Ski School, you can get started in this discipline or deepen your practice while discovering new sensations on the slopes.

Telemark technique particularly calls on balance, coordination and precise weight distribution. As the sessions progress, you learn to control your bending, to execute the turns with greater fluidity, and to gradually find your own landmarks.

Whether you are an experienced skier looking for a new experience or a long-time telemark practitioner, the exercises are adapted to your level and goals. A personalized progression that allows you to develop your technique while fully enjoying the pleasure of skiing.

Télémark

Unique sensations

The technique of telemark differs from alpine skiing in its free heel and the lunge position specific to this discipline. This changes the way you distribute your weight, find your balance and steer your skis. The first steps therefore let you get used to the equipment and gradually get to grips with these new sensations.

The instructor then guides you through learning the movements needed to perform and link your turns in telemark skiing. The exercises evolve according to your level of proficiency to work on the precision of your support, coordination, and relaxation. This will gradually develop a smoother glide and greater confidence in your movements.

Between technique and the pleasure of the mountains

A learning experience adapted to your level

Les telemark course are aimed both at people discovering the discipline and at skiers wanting to deepen their practice. Beginners learn the essential movements and gradually find their bearings, while more experienced skiers can refine their movements and develop their control on varied terrain.

ESI instructors adjust their teaching according to your level and your progress. Body position, support quality, balance or skiing technique: each element can be observed and worked on through targeted exercises. The content of the sessions therefore evolves as you progress and as you achieve the goals you set.
